1. How best would you describe your creative style?
I love colour and texture and mixed media means I can use anything and everything to create with. I think my work is quite exploratory and full of emotion. I like to find bits and bobs to recycle and add to my art work. Others might see junk but I see the potential of something beautiful and I adore giving things a new lease of life! This does mean I don’t throw much away to the despair of my husband and the bulging art cupboard!
2. What do you enjoy most about crafting?
I can loose myself entirely in the process. If I get into the flow hours can fly by. I find it calming and it always puts me in a good mood. Art journalling centres me and is a place for me to experiment and express myself. It is here where I get my inspiration for my mixed media canvases. I also love painting portraits and watching the character of the person materialise in front of me.
3. What’s the best tip to beat the fear of a blank page?
It is all about letting go and not worrying about the outcome. Slap some colour down, add a bit of texture and let yourself just play with the materials. If it doesn’t work out that’s okay, you’ll soon learn what does and doesn’t work for you!
4. Last but not least - what is your favourite biscuit?
A plain chocolate digestive every time! (and my cat who’s called Biscuit!)
