Meet Karen the brains and craziness behind StraightCurves. A fully trained teacher and designer, and a bit of butterfly when it comes to all things creative she tends to change her favourite craft on a weekly basis.

Q&A with Karen

Have you always been creative?
Yes, from a young age I have always loved making and drawing although I did go through a phase of wanting to be a forensic scientist but grew out of it thankfully!

What's your top tip for beginners?
"Give yourself a break” everyone learns at a different pace, has a different style and enjoys some things more than others. If everyone was the same the world would be a very boring place.

What one thing have you made that you’re most proud of?
An origami jack-in-the-box that actually worked it took several days to complete when I was about 12 years old and I think I still have it somewhere too!
