1. Who or what inspired you to take up a creative career?
Craft and creativity was something that I did at home. I didn’t choose a creative career, I started out in a factory, cutting and sewing. I considered my dreams fulfilled when I became a nursery nurse and it was only then working with children that the craft started to creep in. Not so long ago a nice lady presented me with an opportunity and now my life is full of creativity and craft. I still have the pleasure of working with young children, only now I don’t have nappies to change!
2. What do you enjoy most about crafting?
I particularly enjoy the challenge of a new skill learned and the satisfaction a completed project. But nothing surpasses seeing the pleasure a personalised creation brings when gifted to a loved one. For me its the end product and satisfaction of achieving something you might have once said you couldn’t do. Amigurumi is a fun and enjoyable way to make soft toys and being able to adapt patterns to suit yourself is fun too.
3. What’s your favourite thing about teaching?
I love sharing with like-minded persons the skills that my nan handed down to me. Seeing their pleasure at the successful completion of a project knowing that I have done everything possible to nurture these new skills.
