We have been looking forward to launching this bubble bag design for what feels like ages and finally it’s here! This fabulous kit comes in two sizes and has an embroidery add on kit too. The bags are truly beautiful and can be used as project bags, toy bags, laundry bags or even a summer picnic in the park bag, you may actually need to make more than one. They are slightly addictive as I ended up making 4 (make that 5) as one was just not enough.
The bubble bag has a unique double top that acts to reinforce the handle and provide a neat finish to the fabric lining. The standard kit needs a 4.5mm hook and the larger size was made using a 6mm hook, obviously you can vary this to suit your preference of hook size and finished bag stiffness. You will also need a knitters needle to sew your ends and lining in.
Finished sizes will vary depending on your tension and yarn used, below is a guide to how big your bag will be.
Standard bubble bag will be approx 28cm high, around 35cm diameter at its widest point and the opening is about 26cm diameter.
Double bubble bag will be approx 39cm high, around 50cm diameter at its widest point and the opening is about 38cm diameter.
The pattern involves a magic ring and then just double crochet stitches, slip stitches and chains so it great for beginners with some experience or more advanced crocheters who just need another bag! The pattern doesn’t just include the crochet element to this bag it also provided instructions on how to cut your own pattern for the fabric lining allowing it to perfectly fit your bag whether you are a loose or a tight hooker (crochet tension of course).
You can choose the colour of your bag from any of the Stylecraft Aran with Wool colours shown above, more coming soon as Stylecraft have just released new colours. The kit does not include your hook, needle, paper for lining pattern, fabric for lining, thread to sew the lining on a sewing machine or by hand.

Embroidery Add On Kit
This kit includes a close-up photo along with basic instructions of how to complete your sketchy unique embroidery to the outside of your bag. It includes enough wool to add 2 or 3 embroidery sketches to your bag in case you want to embellish most sides.
Contents: 11 shades of Stylecraft Special DK yarn (small quantities), photographic instructions, a needle and black embroidery thread. The kit is £10 for the standard bubble bag when ordered with the bag pattern or £15 if ordered separately. If you wish to embroider your double size bag this kit will work and have enough yarn for one embroidery if you wish to do 2 embroideries on your double bag please state this when ordering as there will be an additional charge of £5 to cover the extra wool.
