Have you ever heard of the 100 day project? No?…. Well it is an annual event that anyone creative can take part in. Starting in the spring like minded creators can sign up online from all over the world. All you need to do is choose a project, do it everyday for 100 days and share your progress on instagram using the hashtag #The100DayProject.

It’s a fantastic event, I love to follow the community and see what everyone is doing. There are people painting, drawing, baking, knitting, felting and much much more. I have watched from afar for several years but not found the time to commit until this year.
The project I finally decided on was a mini watercolour sketch each day. The idea was that I try to draw something that related somehow to my day and that it would take me no more than 10 minutes. I love this technique of drawing and often use it when I’m out and about or on holiday but don’t often find the time day to day so it seemed like a perfect idea for my project
It was a challenge! Some days were harder than others, but I made it and got a lot of lovely support from friends, family and from the world wide community also taking part.
Here are a few of my favourites:
You can see them all on instagram under #100minisketches. It was a lovely way to capture memories and I like that I have something to look back on. After I had finished I decided to try and make more time to draw and it also inspired me to create my latest workshop. So if you fancy coming along and learning to sketch in this way why not check it out!
