Young Art Journaling After School Club

In this course you will get to try out many different materials and explore different ways to add colour, texture, words and imagery to your pages.

Session one – ‘Getting started - 3 things about me’ Learn how to get started with some easy painting and stencilling techniques.

Session two – ‘Hidden diary entries’ This week we look at adding hidden pockets and using pastels to add colour.

Session three – ‘5 of my favourite things’ Here we explore making collage sheets and adding shapes and patterns to your pages.

Session four - ‘No paint - No problem!’ This week we explore creating pages from materials we might find around the house.

Session Five - ‘Thank you for...’ This week gives you the opportunity to have another go at your favourite techniques so far as well trying some new fun ideas.

The course is suitable for everyone aged 10 to 16 you don’t need to be able to draw. It is all about playing with the materials and trying new things. There are no rules! Come and have a go!

You can of course just bring yourselves but please feel free to bring along your own collage bits and pieces such as old magazines, stickers etc to help make your pages your own. I would also recommend either an apron or clothes you don’t mind getting paint on as it can get messy!

You can bring along your own journal if you would like to but you will receive one for free to start you off.

Everyone will receive a journal to work in during the course which is yours to keep. You will take home a great variety of skills and techniques to get you started on your art journaling journey and a beginners guide handout to help you practice at home.
