Virtual Mixed Media Drawing

Each session will look at different subject matters whilst exploring the amazing possibilities of using mixed media!

Session one - This week we will be working with ink, coffee, and soft pastels to draw an amazing animal.
Session Two - This week we will explore how collage and pastels can be used to create fantastic still life drawings.
Session Three - This week we will be creating expressive, arty faces using charcoal, white acrylic paint, and watercolours.

This course is suitable for anyone aged 11 years and over who would like to have a go or improve their skills. No experience is necessary to take part in this virtual course.

Session One - you will need:
Sketchbook or mixed media paper (A3 Preferably)
Pencil
Rubber
Indian ink and a brush or stick (or black pens, in different thicknesses if possible)
Instant coffee
Two pots
Paintbrushes
Water pot
Soft pastels
Hairdryer or heat gun

Session Two - you will need:
Black or dark coloured paper
Glue stick
Collage - you will need white, light and dark to create contrast. I like using old book pages for my white and then I choose a light colour like yellow and a dark like blue. This can be coloured papers, torn out of magazines/leaflets etc.
Soft pastels
Pencil

Session Three - you will need:
Sketchbook or mixed media paper (A4 or A3)
Charcoal
White acrylic paint
Paintbrush
Watercolours
Water
Hairdryer or heat gun

You will be learning at home so it’s yours to keep along with the skills you learn so you can carry on creating by yourself.
