Virtual Gelli Plate Printing

In this virtual course we will learn the basics of gelli plate printing to get you started! Be careful, it’s addictive! once you get started there is no stopping! You will learn several basic techniques that will ensure you get some fantastic results as well as learning how to set up and care for your plate.

Our virtual art sessions are a great way to develop your creativity and take your mind off your everyday stresses. The sessions will be tutor-led step by step through zoom a virtual meeting software which is free for you to download online. You will need your own materials and equipment for this course as it is done at home so please check the details below

This course will guide you through the different processes of using a gelli plate as described below.

Session 1 - The basics
In this session we will look at how to set up and care for your plate and start to learn the basics to get you started making fabulous prints.

Session 2 - Using different mediums
In this session we will be adding different mediums to our plates, making tags, and learning how to layer.

Session 3 - Image Transfers
In this session we will be learning how to create image transfers on your plate and using all the techniques we have learnt so far to create a fantastic print.

All aged 11 years and over and all abilities are welcome on this course, no prior knowledge or experience is required. 

You will need the following materials:
Gelli plate (preferably A5 or A4 size)
backing paper
plain paper (lots)
cleaning sheet (scrap paper)
brayer (roller)
stencils
found objects from around the house that you can make marks within the paint
paint or chalk markers
Ink/ink pads
craft stamps
magazine glossy/laserjet images
luggage tags
acrylic paint
water spray

You will also need a way to get online using a laptop, desktop computer or a tablet along with internet access. The software its delivered through is called Zoom and it is free for you to download it onto your device.
