Pottery Pumpkins

Join us to create your own unique ceramic pumpkin!
During this 3 hour pottery workshops you will:
• Master the pinch pot technique to form the perfect spherical base for your gourd.
• Add personal touches like stems, leaves, or even cut holes to transform your pumpkin into a glowing lantern. You can even carve a face to create a spooky jack-o'-lantern!
• Choose from a range of vibrant glazes to bring your pumpkin to life.
In this workshop, we'll be working with a beautiful red earthenware or terracotta clay, specifically chosen for its compatibility with our lovely orange and red earthenware glazes.
You'll begin by making two pinch pots and joining them to form a sphere, which will become the body of your pumpkin. Add a stem and leaves for a natural, realistic finish, or cut a pattern of holes so a tea light can illuminate your creation from within. The choice is yours!

Perfect for beginners or those expanding their pottery skills, this class offers a welcoming environment to explore clay. This session is aimed for adults but we welcome children aged 12 and over with a participating adult. Please bear in mind this is a 3 hour workshop if booking children on.

All materials and equipment are provided. While we won't get too messy, we recommend not wearing your best white top. Clay should wash out, but feel free to bring an apron if you prefer.
Tip: As we are making thumb pots you may find this easier with shorter finger nails.

You won't be able to take your creations home on the day as we needs to dry, fire and glaze to your choice of colour first. They will be ready to collect at your convenience from the studio 3-5 weeks later. Your tutor will be able to give you a better idea of collection date on the day of your workshop.
