Pair of Stockings

We will create our pair of stockings one step at a time with a demo of each technique to help you along the way. We will be learning how to:
- use paper patterns to cut fabric
- sew seams
- create a lining
- assemble the pieces and bag out the design
- create a hanging loop
- reverse stitch to reinforce sewing
- pinning

Anyone aged 11 years+ who can thread up and drive a sewing machine. Don't worry if straight isn't your thing as our stockings are pretty curvy so you will be ok.

You will need 1m of Christmas or alternative design for you stockings outers. If you want to use two different fabrics this is fine but we recommend getting slightly more than 0.5m of each to ensure your pieces fit comfortably. Fabric should be 100% or high cotton content. I would avoid anything shiny or stretchy for this make as you don't want a droopy stocking.

You will also need 1.5m of fleece fabric to line the stockings. This will be visible at the top of stockings on the turnover too.

We will be making a fabirc hanger our of scraps from either the outer or inner or both but if you want a contrasting hanger feel free to bring some spare farbic along to make this from.

We will provide thread and all the tools you need to complete your stockings including sewing machines. But please don't forget your glasses if you need them.
