Nuno Felted Scarf

Using a technique which is very similar to wet felting, we will delicately combine high quality merino wool and silk fibres with a light silk to create a beautiful scarf.

Don’t worry if you struggle for ideas – there will be plenty of samples around to offer inspiration and enough time for you to experiment with a range of decorative effects – play around with swirls, spots, spirals and much more until you’re happy with your design, and then it’s time to felt it!

This workshop is suitable for people who have wet felted before, who understand how to select and lay-out wool and silk tops and would like to develop their skills further.

You don’t need to bring anything other than yourself as all materials, including the silk scarves, are provided. It is advisable to wear comfortable clothes and shoes – nuno felting isn’t dirty, but does involve soap, water and a lot of elbow grease and so you may wish to bring an apron along!

There will be a refreshment break where tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. However if you would like anything more substantial you will have time to wander into town or please feel free to bring along your own food - we do have a fridge for storage too.

You will take home your beautiful, draping nuno silk scarf.  The scarf would make an ideal present for someone special – or keep it for yourself and enjoy!
