Explore and learn the use of different types of weaving looms and a variety of techniques on this great course.
In each session, we will explore different weaving techniques and methods. These will include; tapestry, tabby/plain, rigid-heddle, peg loom and warp-faced weaving.
The course will include:
• How to warp-up a loom ready for weaving
• How to design and create woven fabric
• Exploring materials suitable for weaving
• Weaving terms, looms and equipment
• How to use a variety of small table looms
Who is this class suitable for?
Anyone who wants to learn the art of colourful and creative weaving, using table looms to make a small scarf, bag or purse. This course is suitable for beginners.
What should I bring with me?
Colourful textured yarn and materials will be available to weave with, including re-cycled fabric such as old clothing and fabric scraps. Looms, equipment and yarn are also provided. However, you are welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
What will I take home?
You will take home a small scarf, bag or purse - whatever you decide to create during the course along with handouts covering all the weaving techniques you have learnt so that you can carry on at home with ease.
