This is a great course for anyone wanting to learn about free motion quilting or if you are just desperate for a great project bag big enough to hold 16 100g balls of wool and your work in progress too! I designed this bag myself especially for my latest blanket project as I wanted to be able to take it away with me easily and be able to see all my wool while using it as the straps fold down to turn it into a basket that stands well and stably. It’s also a great way to use up some of your stash or go fabric shopping for more.
We will be using a free motion foot, cotton batting, bagging out, a walking foot, use a pattern and learning how to work accurately to create a great finished product. You should be able to use a sewing machine confidently before coming on this course, if this isn’t you yet why not try our beginners’ sewing machine skills course first.

Absolutely a five star review. The bag is designed by Karen for crafters and she knows her onions with this one. The handles fold down when your working and it’s a basket. Finished? Pull the handles up and off you go. All tidy and more importantly, together. The pieces go together perfectly as you sew. Karen is an excellent tutor with plenty of patience. We all had a really good time, and came away with a new skill, the finished bag and ability to make more ( one for each project?). I definitely recommend this course. My husband is impressed too – so neat and tidy behind the sofa now 😊
