Introduction

This is a one day emergency first aid at work course which satisfies the legal requirements for a first aider in the workplace and is compliant with Health and Safety Executive directives. You will be continuously assessed by your tutor throughout the day and there will be a multiple choice written test at the end of the day to assess what you have learnt.

The course will cover:

Priorities of first aid
Legislation
Incident management
Casualty management
First aid for the unconscious casualty
Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
First aid for severe bleeding
Recognition and treatment for choking
Recognition and treatment for seizures
Recognition and treatment for burns
Course summary and feedback

Who is this class suitable for?

What should I bring with me?

As there is a practical element to this course, please wear sensible clothes as you will be both casualty and first aider throughout the day (yes you will have to get on the floor at some point and lie down too!)

Our venue is fully accessible but if you have any medical condition that may affect your participation in the day or that we should know about, please be sure to add it when booking in the space provided.
