Ceramic Seed Pod

In the workshop you will make one seed pod. Crafted from two pinch pots joined together to form a hollow sphere, these seed pods feature added ribs and texture for a lovely rustic feel. We will be adding a delicate top to the seed pod using press moulds for easy creation.

Beginners will learn the techniques of making a pinch pot in this workshop, while more advanced potters can explore their own shapes and ideas. Decide whether you prefer a pop of colour in your flower bed or a more natural-looking seed pod. There will be a choice of different coloured glazes for your seed pod, or you can use oxides for a more realistic finish.

Perfect for beginners or those expanding their pottery skills, this class offers a welcoming environment to explore clay. It's primarily for adults, but we warmly welcome anyone aged 10 and above. We just ask that younger participants are able to maintain concentration and engagement throughout the three-hour session.

All materials and equipment are provided. While we won't get too messy, we recommend not wearing your best white top. Clay should wash out, but feel free to bring an apron or wear old clothes if you prefer. Don't forget your glasses if you need them as we will be creating detail on our seed pods during the session.

Your creations cannot be taken home on the day. Your pottery will need to be dried, fired and glazed to your choice of colour. They will be ready to collect at your convenience from the studio approximately 3-4 weeks later. Don't worry we will be in touch as soon as they are ready for collection to arrange a pick up time.
