Wet Felted Pumpkin

Tutor: Carol Wilson
Length: 2.5 hours
Max Learners: 8

This Halloween workshop involves making a 3D felt pumpkin, using the wet-felting technique around a template with lovely orange wool tops and go home with the perfect container for your Halloween sweets.

Wet felting involves a combination of wool fibres, soap, water and friction – AKA elbow grease!! It’s a magical craft.

Who Is This Workshop For?

This a fun and creative workshop for beginners or those with a basic knowledge of flat wet-felting wishing to develop their skills and go 3D.

The workshop is suitable for ages 8 and over, but children under 16 should be accompanied by a paying adult.

We will make felt fabric around a template for a hollow pumpkin and a lid with a stalk.   We will layout wool fibres, then felt them with warm water, soap and friction. This will be followed by fulling or shrinking the fibres to form the felt pumpkins.

What Should I Bring With Me?

Just bring yourself and an apron if you have one!

What Do I Take Home?

Take home a completed felt pumpkin, which will simply need to be packed with bubble-wrap or plastic bags, then air dried when you return home.
