Wet Felted Cover or Bag

Wet-felting involves the creation of a fabric using the combination of wool fibres, soap, water and friction – AKA elbow grease!!  It is a magical craft and the possibilities are endless.

In this workshop, you can choose whether to create a unique a seamless felt cover, cosy or bag from a variety of fine wool fibres, yarns and silk.  No sewing, just wet-felting.  This technique is very adaptable, so you can choose to anything from an ipad cover to a tea cosy to a simple bag for your craft projects.

Who Is This Workshop For?

This a fun and creative workshop is suitable for beginners aged 10+ or those with a basic knowledge of flat wet-felting wishing to develop their skills and discover the possibilities of creating seamless, hollow forms.  It’s a great method for those looking for a no-sew option!


We will cover the skill of creating hollow, seamless forms with the aid of templates to create a choice of different products.  You can either use our ready-made shapes or create your own with some guidance.  We will cover felting fibres with warm water, soap and friction.  This will be followed by fulling or shrinking the fibres to form the felt cover, cosy or bag.

What Should I Bring With Me?

Just bring yourself and an apron if you have one as we will provide everything you need.  But feel free to bring along any inspiration if you wish.

What Do I Take Home?

Take home a completed felt cover, cosy or bag, which will simply need to air dry when you return home.  There will also be notes to take with you to aid your memory.
