<<Now extended to 4 sessions instead of 3>>
Crochet is a fun and addictive art. It is very portable and has endless creative possibilities. Tunisian crochet is said by some to be a combination of crochet and knitting. It’s like crochet is the mummy, knitting is the daddy and tunisian crochet the child. The fabric created resembles woven fabric and is thicker than straightforward crochet.
Who Is This Workshop For?
This course is for absolutely anyone aged 8 years and up, it really doesn’t matter if you have knitted, crocheted or done anything else involving wool before, as we will start at the very beginning.
We will begin by learning the basics: how to hold the hook, casting on, forward passes and return passes. These simple steps form the basis of Tunisian Simple Stitch and once you’ve got the hang of it, we will begin making our first project – either a scarf or a case to keep your iPad or other tablet cosy.
We will finish off our project from session one, and learn how to cast it off. We will then discover Tunisian Knit Stitch, and look at how to change colours and use multiple colours in a project
In our third session, we will learn all about the first 3 levels of Entrelac Tunisian, including mastering increases and decreases as we create a small sample piece. Entrelac Tunisian gives a really pretty result, and you may well become addicted very quickly!
In our fourth and final session, we will learn all about finishing off Entrelac Tunisian, with the last two levels needed to square off your ends using rows of little triangles.
